Crafting a Diversity Statement

Many academic jobs require applicants to write a statement regarding their commitment to and experiences with diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice as part of their application materials. This workshop will offer information on how to craft an authentic and meaningful statement, as well as offer opportunities for participants to discuss their particular situations and how to best present themselves to employers. Dr. Phillips is the PI on a grant examining the use of DEI statements in hiring tenure track faculty and will share insights from the data she and her colleagues have collected.
